In partnership with the Council of San Sadurniño, this geological route runs through two areas, in the surroundings of the Naraío Castle and in the upper part of the Serra do Forgoselo. First, we will visit the structural valley of the Castro River where you can admire the contact of granite rocks with ancient sediments, now transformed into slabs, but also the formation of the “pías” caused by fluvial erosion. Second, in the Serra do Forgoselo you will have an exceptional panoramic view from the Sisargas Islands to the serra do Xistral. The showstoppers in this route are without a doubt the incredible granite shapes (“bolos”, “pías”, grooves or tafonis) and you will learn about their geological origin and evolution.
The route has a low difficulty, but it is advisable to wear comfortable shoes. The journey between the different stops will be made in private cars.
